“How to” Posting Tutorial

Before posting a blog entry, you must first log into WordPress. You can log into our class blog by clicking the “Log In” link as displayed in the upper-righthand region of WordPress’ site:

Once you arrive to the WordPress homepage and click “Log In,” you’ll be brought to the following page. Once here, sign in using the user name and password you registered with the site. For most of you, this will be your Hofstra University email address. Some of you, on the other hand, opted to use your personal email addresses. Regardless, you will enter that information on a page resembling this window:Screen shot 2015-02-18 at 7.50.10 AM

Once you’ve successfully logged in, click on the “My Sites” link in the upper-lefthand region of the window:

Once you arrive on our blog’s Dashboard (the page where you can see traffic and other blog posts), you’re ready to post your story. Under the “Publish” section, you’ll see two options: Blog Post and Pages. For our class, you’ll be dealing exclusively with the Blog Post option. Click the “Add” link next to the Blog Post option on the lefthand side of the window:

And, voila, you arrive at the blog posting window:Screen shot 2015-02-18 at 7.52.06 AM
Now you’re ready to post your blog entry! If you have any questions, please let me know (email: bfadds@gmail.com). I’m looking forward to reading about the Industry News, Current Events, or Interesting Media Trends you’ll be posting about this semester.
